If you are starting a new teaching job in Hong Kong, you will need to make a quick trip to Macau to activate your working visa. Basically, you just need to re-enter Hong Kong, and this involves taking a short ferry trip to Macau and back. But hey, why not make a day of it!?

Macau is infamously known as the ‘Las Vegas of China’ because gambling is legal, but it was also colonised and administered by the Portuguese up until 1999, so brace yourself for some stunning European architecture too.
