If you are serious about starting your career as an ESL teacher in Asia, you will need to secure a TEFL qualification to satisfy the visa requirements. The standard requirements for many locations are 120-hours. The Teaching English as a Foreign Language Qualification will equip you with some of the techniques needed for teaching non-native English speakers your native tongue.

120-hours of studying sounds daunting, but you can complete the online course in 4-7 days! The courses come as online, in class lessons or combined. Most employers and immigration departments do not discriminate against which style of course you choose and will accept a completely online course but check with individual employers as this can vary dependent on location.
